いただきます!/itadakimasu/ Let’s eat
On the second episode of “You ate what?!” I thought we’d visit primary colors. Blue food reminds me of Violet from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Maybe a slice of her finger. Too grotesque? My bad. Can you guess what it is? Think about all the blue/purple foods you know. I think you’re close.
Oh look! I didn’t even notice that you could see the menu underneath the plate. Cool beans. Too bad you can’t read that kanji. I can’t read it either. Yet. Ok. Are you ready to guess? Potato? Yes, there are purple-y blue-ish potatoes. Cross off blueberries. It’s not fruit. Carrots? Cabbage? Sweet Potato? Yes, there are purple sweet potatoes. Google it.
I think you got it. Its Haaman, the blinged out limo driver from Veggietales. You didn’t watch Veggietales. That sucks. You didn’t know that “Jonah was a prophet”?! That song still goes hard in the paint. Oo. Oo.
It’s pickled eggplant.
I’d never tried eggplant but I enjoy pickled/fermented foods and drinks. It was sour and delicious. Not everyone was a fan. But it was おいしい/oiishii/delicious!
御馳走様(でした)!/Gochisou sama (deshita)/Thank you for the delicious meal!
